Receive our thanks, Lord, for the many blessings we have-- that we have the basic needs of warm shelter, food and clean water, as well as an abundance of love of family and friends.  We are especially thankful for the safe arrival of all around our table today. 


As we enjoy the food before us with gratefulness to you and all who have contributed to it, we pray for those who will have little or no food or shelter.


As we enjoy the company of each other here, we pray for those who are separated by distance or spirit from their family and friends.  May your love provide the bridge by which they can cross the chasms.  We pray for men and women who spend this day away from their families, at war in other countries.  May there soon be peace that will bring them home. 

Thank you for your beloved son Jesus and the communities of faith we belong to that uplift us, sustain us, and inspire us to keep on actively sharing your love with the world.  We pray in His name.

And to all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!  I am especially thankful for all of you, my friends, for your encouragement, laughter and companionship.  You are all precious treasures in my life of overflowing blessings.  Yes, troubles and challenges are always present, but God alway illuminates the path with His light which shines in you.  Thank you!
